Arizona's Gilbert Hospital, Florence Hospital at Anthem merge

Officials hope the unified operations structure of the two hospitals will help reduce cost and increase efficiency.

Gilbert Hospital and Florence Hospital at Anthem, both in Arizona, have announced that they have joined together under common ownership and management, forming a new entity called New Vision Health.

Hoping to position itself as a regional healthcare leader, the company said that its administrative, operational and clinical changes will improve patient access to healthcare, as well as the quality of care provided at both hospitals.

New Vision Health CEO and board member Bryan J. Hargis said in a statement that the new outfit will offer "a broad spectrum of services," and will have " more cost-effective operations."

Officials hope the unified operations structure of the two hospitals will help reduce cost and increase efficiency, as well as provide additional resources to the two hospitals.

New physicians have been added to their respective medical staffs.
