Post Acute Medical nabs HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital

The 61-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital employs 128 medical professionals.

Post Acute Medical will acquire HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Beaumont, Texas, from HealthSouth, a deal that is expected to be finalized on June 1.

Monetary terms were not disclosed.

To reflect the change, the hospital will be renamed the PAM Rehabilitation Hospital of Beaumont. The 61-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital employs 128 medical professionals and staff and provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.

As well as tending to general rehabilitation diagnoses, such as brain and spinal cord injuries, amputation, hip fractures and joint replacement, the hospital offers specialized inpatient programs for stroke rehabilitation and amputation.

Post Acute Medical currently operates 46 long-term acute care hospitals, medical rehabilitation hospitals and outpatient physical therapy locations in eight states.

Anthony Misitano, president and CEO of Post Acute Medical, said in a statement that the system was looking forward to strengthening its existing footprint in Texas.
