Government should enact penalties or revoke a tax-exempt status for hospitals that don't comply, AMA says.

The AHA says the final rule only worsens the problem of "sustained and substantial underpayment" of hospitals.

According to the AMA, this has undercut fair payment for out-of-network healthcare services and eliminated market competition.

UMC has been able to keep its ER open, but other services have been disrupted.
