Though healthcare is one of the largest markets in the world, spending is actually on the decline when looking back over the past century.
That's what research organization The Altarum Institute recently found in its analysis of health expenditures in relation to economic growth in the United States going back to 1850. The report, "Medical Costs over the Long Run: 1850–2050" was writen by advisor Tom Getzen, who lays out some important trends and spending projections.
