The best way for payers to engage members proactively about their health and wellness is to enable two-way conversations, says Bob Farrell, CEO of digital health platform mPulse Mobile.
Conversational AI allows for a back-and-forth between health plans and members. Photo novellas offer a TikTok-like experience of rich content within a few seconds.
mPulse did a research study in partnership with AltaMed and the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute that showed conversational AI improved screening rates for colorectal screening by 40% among a population facing SDoH barriers.
To hear more about AI's ability to prompt action, listen to Farrell's conversation with Susan Morse, executive director, Healthcare Finance News.
Talking points:
- Conversational AI allows for greater patient engagement.
- "Fotonovelas" are a visual snippet of deep content within a 10-30 second time frame.
- Combining a multichannel approach increases engagement, which improves outcomes and reduces costs.
- Conversations open communication for transportation and other needs for vulnerable populations
- Interest in AI solutions will be reflected in private equity investments and M&A.
