For profit Ardent Health has acquired 18 urgent care clinics across New Mexico and Oklahoma from NextCare Urgent Care.

The transaction includes six urgent care clinics in New Mexico, which will operate as part of Lovelace Health System, and 12 clinics in Oklahoma that will become part of Hillcrest HealthCare System.

No financial details were disclosed.

The clinics are expected to be integrated into Ardent Health's Epic EHR.

WHY THIS MATTERS

The acquisition significantly expands Ardent Health's ambulatory operations in both markets, the company said.

The purchase follows Ardent Health's acquisition of nine additional urgent care centers in its East Texas and Topeka, Kansas, markets in 2024. Terms of that agreement were not disclosed.

Through its subsidiaries, Ardent Health operates five hospitals and 25 sites of care in New Mexico and eight hospitals and 57 sites of care in Oklahoma.

THE LARGER TREND

Ardent Health said it is located in growing midsize urban communities across the country.

Through its subsidiaries, the company has 30 acute care hospitals and delivers care at more than 200 sites. It has over 1,800 affiliated providers across six states.

Ardent Health Services, formerly known as Behavioral Healthcare Corporation is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
