Cigna launches Evernorth, in a rebrand of its health services portfolio

In a rebrand of its health services portfolio, Cigna is launching Evernorth, which includes pharmacy benefit manager Express Scripts, specialty pharmacy Accredo and eviCore healthcare, which provides utilization management services for health plans or employer groups and outpatient diagnostic imaging service programs.
Tim Wentworth will serve as CEO of Evernorth.
The open business model will bring together Cigna's health services as well as outside partners in pharmacy solutions, benefits management and care solutions. This will help solve problems across a fragmented healthcare ecosystem, Cigna said.
Evernorth's use of data and analytics will provide a platform for the health solutions geared toward health plans, employers, and government organizations – inclusive of those without Cigna medical insurance.
One solution, Healthy Ways to Work, helps health plans and employers address the unique challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fertility solution, FamilyPath, helps reduce avoidable costs. It provides holistic care coordination and more flexible options for individuals.
Embarc Benefit Protection ensures access to high-cost gene therapies; inMynd supports mental health conditions.

Evernorth is part of Evernorth Health, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cigna.
Evernorth is a new brand for Cigna's growing health services portfolio. Beginning in the third quarter, the health services segment will be reported as Evernorth.
