Epic, Optimum, Premier snag high honors in 2017 Best in KLAS awards
Payer solutions companies Casenet TruCare and Verscend Quality Reporting received Best in KLAS honors, a first for the awards program.
Epic, Optimum Healthcare IT and Premier received overall Best in KLAS awards in the 2017 Best in KLAS: Software and Services report, which names the top-performing healthcare IT and services companies based on customer feedback.
The report was notable for two new Payer Solutions segments. Casenet TruCare was named Best in KLAS for Care Management Solutions, and Verscend Quality Reporting snagged Best in KLAS for Payer Quality Analytics and Reporting. This is the first year KLAS offered awards for payer solutions.
KLAS is a research and insights firm focused on improving healthcare delivery. Its president, Adam Gale, said in a statement that the annual report is meant to recognize vendors who "improve healthcare while addressing changes like payment reform and the shift to population health."

Casenet TruCare specializes in care management software suites and services solutions. Verscend offers integrated analytic solutions that seek ways to mitigate risk and improve outcomes.
Epic, meanwhile, earned the top Overall Software Suite for the seventh consecutive year, was named the top Overall Physician Practice Vendor and received Best in KLAS awards in eight categories. Optimum Healthcare IT earned the designation of top Overall IT Services Firm and won one Best in KLAS award, while Premier won Overall Best in KLAS for Healthcare Management Consulting Firm, a new category this year.
International companies were also recognized. InterSystems and Sectra topped the 2017 Global (Non-US) Best in KLAS: Software report, with InterSystems winning two Best in KLAS awards, for Acute Care EMR and Patient Administration Systems, and three Category Leader awards. Sectra earned one Best in KLAS award, for PACS, and one Category Leader award.
