Garth Brooks backs renovated play area at Texas Children's Hospital
Country music star's the Teammates for Kids Foundation supported the renovation of the Child Life Zone.
The Texas Children's Hospital has a new, expanded area for therapeutic play, thanks to funding from a charity backed by country music star Garth Brooks.
According to the Houston-based hospital, the Teammates for Kids Foundation supported the renovation of the Child Life Zone, an area packed with games, a kitchen and even a studio where young patients can learn music.
"The kids in this hospital, and hospitals around the world, have a harder climb than a kid who is not. Our job is to remind them and remind all of us that they are kids, let them be kids," said Brooks, who attended the unveiling of the new center.
