Healthgrades doles out 2016 Outstanding Patient Experience Awards; See which hospitals made the list

Healthgrades has named 448 hospitals with its 2016 Outstanding Patient Experience Award based on patient survey responses to the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys. The winning hospitals represent the top 15 percent in the nation for patient experience.

Healthgrades decided on the winners after evaluating 3,858 hospitals that submitted patient surveys to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Those surveys covered admissions from April 2014 to March 2015. The survey questions focus on patients' perspectives of their care during their inpatient hospital stay.

Healthgrades said they found hospitals that are top performers in patient experience continuously monitor trends in what patients find important as it relates to their overall assessment of a hospital stay.
