Bronwyn Spira cofounded Force Therapeutics 12 years ago to answer the challenge of how patients can best recover at home.
The digital care management platform for musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions allows patients to actively engage in their care anytime, anywhere, through an intelligently designed system, said Spira, CEO of the company. There's also a clinical and financial benefit for hospitals and other providers, she said.
RTM adoption will accelerate, she said, regardless of the end of any flexibilities for remote monitoring and telehealth put in place under the public health emergency, which ended on May 11.
"We approach care as omnichannel," she said. "It has to be accessible to all."

Talking points:
- RTM can be used to monitor medication adherence, therapy, musculoskeletal activity and respiratory activity.
- CMS has indicated its support for remote therapeutic monitoring in last year's release of RTM monitoring codes.
- The action by CMS is an acknowledgment that providers are able to monitor patients remotely.
- The digital care management platform is sold to hospitals to better manage patients' care outside of the facility.
- COVID-19 produced an uptick in the use of the already built remote communication care platform. Many patients now prefer the remote option.
