Hospitals, health systems add to C-suites in June; several new CEOs hired

Along with CEOs, many chief operating officers and chief nursing officers were also hired, making for a busy month.

Hospitals and health systems bolstered their C-suites in June as many new leadership positions, including that of CEO, were filled at facilities throughout the country.

Here are the most recent moves, according to HIMSS Analytics Logic Health IT Market Intelligence Platform

Somerset Hospital in Somerset, Pennsylvania appointed Andrew G. Rush to serve as its top executive. Bay Medical Sacred Heart in Panama City, Florida appointed Scott Campbell to its CEO post and Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri named Bret Kolman to that role.

Lillian Montoya will serve as the new president and CEO of Christus St. Vincent in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and James Kiser will serve as CEO of Montrose Memorial Hospital in Montrose, Colorado. In Arkansas, Petersburg Medical Center hired Phil Hofstetter to its top post. Stacey Gabriel, meanwhile, will take over as president and CEO of Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, Ohio.

CarePoint Health in Jersey City also filled it CEO role, naming Natasha Deckmann, MD, to the top spot. David McKnight, who had been serving as interim CEO for Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia, dropped the "interim" to his title.

A couple of interim CEOs were named -- Andrew G. Rush at Pennsylvania-based Somerset Hospital, and Bob Carter at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center in Poteau.

Several chief operating officers were named, including Susan M. Newton at Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, Florida. St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas appointed Becky Barnes to serve as its COO, and Julia Truman will serve in that capacity at Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, Florida. St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, tapped Alan E. George for that role.

Other executive hires in June included: Theresa L. Champagne, RN, as chief nursing officer at LRGHealthcare in Laconia, New Hampshire; Kim Besse as executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Children's Medical Center in Dallas; Kelsea Henry as chief financial officer at Memorial Regional Health in Craig, Colorado; Angela Lalas as CFO at Loma Linda University Health in Loma Linda, California; Brian Dean as vice president and CFO at Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston; Shawn Hartley as CFO at Nash UNC Health Care in Rocky Mount, NC; John Ulberg Jr. as CFO at NYC Health + Hospitals; and Brittni McGill, RN, as CNO at Norman Regional Health System in Norman, Oklahoma.
