Kaiser Permanente boasts roughly $300 million boost in operating revenue in Q2 2017 over 2016
Net income totaled one billion, with combined total operating revenue of $18.1 billion, system said.
Healthcare giant Kaiser Permanente posted $772 million in Q2 operating income, a nearly $300 million jump over Q2 2016, the system announced. However, the number is also slightly down from first quarter, when the system posted one billion in income.
Their operating income combined with $240 million in non-operating income brought them to a net income of one billion and a combined total operating revenue of $18.1 billion. Second quarter 2016 saw $15.8 billion, the system said.
Kaiser Permanente's membership totaled roughly 11.7 million members as of June 30, 2017, having grown by approximately 1.1 million members since December 31, 2016. This included membership from the acquisition of Seattle-based Group Health Cooperative in February.
Kaiser Permanente serves 10.6 million members in eight states and the District of Columbia.
