Kindred, CHI Franciscan team up to build inpatient rehab hospital in Seattle market
Facility will care for adults recovering from conditions such as stroke, neurological disease or injury to the brain or spinal cord.
Louisville-based Kindred Healthcare and Tacoma, Washington-based CHI Franciscan on Monday announced a joint venture to build a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Monetary terms of the deal, however, were not disclosed.
According to the organizations, the new facility will be constructed in Tacoma, which is located in Kindred's Seattle integrated care market. Kindred, which already runs two transitional care hospitals, two nursing centers and two hospital-based sub-acute care facilities, will manage the day-today operations of the new facility.
