Meaningful use reporting could be cut to 90 days by CMS

New rules come after industry pressure about the requirements.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services made a lot of healthcare providers happy on Thursday when it proposed cutting the reporting period to earn incentives in its meaningful use program from one year to 90 days. The move comes after a host of industry advocates petitioned the governement to shorten the requirements so providers could focus on implementing new software for electronic health records.
