Mercy Health kicks off $14 million renovation project in Cincinnati

Operating rooms at Fairfield Hospital are getting an overhaul.

Mercy Health in Cincinnati has announced that Fairfield Hospital is undergoing a $14 million renovation to enhance patient care in surgery and inpatient and outpatient endoscopy.

As part of the project, inpatient and outpatient operating rooms will be revamped to better accommodate new technology. The spine intervention center will be enlarged with an eye toward improving patient access, and the driveway and entrance to the ambulatory and surgery center will be redesigned to improve access to the building. Inpatient and outpatient endoscopy will be located in the same area for the purposes of better efficiency.

Mercy Health North Market President and CEO Thomas Urban said in a statement that "we will upgrade our surgery suites to include the latest technology to enhance patient care. We will also expand our patients' ability to utilize our spine intervention capabilities and improve access to our ambulatory surgery center to provide a better patient and visitor experience that accommodates our growing patient volume."
