Promotions, hires and fires for the week ending November 8, 2013
Detroit Medical Center announced that Larry M. Gold will become the new president of the Children's Hospital of Michigan. He most recently served as president of British Columbia Children's Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Sunrise Senior Living appointed Penny McIntyre as CEO, succeeding current CEO Mark Ordan. Most recently, she was the president of Newell RubberMaid's Consumer Group.
Parallon named current CFO, Chris Taylor, as interim CEO when it announced the removal of current CEO Michael O’Boyle. Prior to his current role, Taylor served as CFO of HCA’s TriStar division.
Reginald Coopwood, MD, president and CEO of the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., has been named chairman of the Tennessee Hospital Association's board of directors.
David Gallitano, WellCare Health Plans’ chairman, will serve as interim CEO, after the removal of Alec Cunningham from that position. Cunningham served as CEO since 2009.
