See how the remaining Pioneer ACOs performed (map)

Only 19 organizations remain in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid innovation model program, but many have seen millions in savings.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services this week said its Pioneer accountable care organization model for payment innovation generated nearly $400 million in savings to Medicare in its first two years of operation. In fact, the organization now plans to expand the program based on that success.

While 32 healthcare organizations initially joined the Pioneer ACO model, only 19 remain, and most of those saw hefty savings by participating in the program. The below map shows the locations of these remaining 19 Pioneer ACOs, and shares detailed info on the performance of each ACO over both years of the pilot program.
