ICD-10 codes you can use for Pokemon Go diagnoses
Don't worry, it looks like the ICD-10-CM code set is up to the task.
During the ICD-10 preparation era before Oct. 1, 2015, ICD-10 critics ridiculed the many new diagnosis codes. Did the federal government feel we were going to be experiencing an epidemic of lamppost injuries, waterski burns and duck attacks?
Now it seems that U.S. healthcare could be caught in an unexpected crisis without an adequate code set to document it.
I think the CDC ought to start working on some new ICD-10 codes for Pokémon related injuries. I could envision another 3000 codes! #ICD10

For the unaffected, "Pokemon Go" is a game played on cellphones. The game directs players to real-world locations to "capture" animated characters shown only on the players' phones. Playing requires a bit of focus that could distract players from real-world hazards -- like traffic.
But don't worry. It looks like the ICD-10-CM code set is up to the task. AthenaHealth's Caroline Smart shares the top 10 ICD-10 codes relevant to Pokemon injuries. Here are some examples:
