RCCH HealthCare acquires Ascension hospitals in Washington State, Ohio
Lourdes Health in Pasco, Washington, and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, will change hands.

Brentwood, Tennessee-based RCCH HealthCare Partners will acquire two Ascension hospitals, the systems announced Wednesday.
Lourdes Health in Pasco, Washington, and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, have signed definitive agreements for the deal, after having signed letters of intent with RCCH predecessor Capella Healthcare in June 2015.

Cappella Healthcare and RegionalCare Hospital partners announced their plans to merge back in March and the new company was rebranded RCCH Health Partners, which stands for RegionalCare Capella Healthcare. The system currently encompass 18 hospital campuses in 12 states with more than 14,000 employees, 2,000 affiliated physicians and $1.7 billion in combined revenue.
Ascension is a faith-based health system, and both Ascension and RCCH have ssaid they support maintaining the faith-based heritages of both hospitals.

St. Joseph's was founded in 1902 when the Sisters of St. Joseph of Belvidere, Illinois opened up a hospitals in a seven-room house in Lewiston, Ohio. Lourdes Health was founded 1916, when the Sisters of St. Joseph stayed in the old Montana Hotel in Pasco. The sisters set up a facility equipped to care for the sick, which eventually was taken over by Our Lady of Lourdes, who opened the facility's doors to sick people in the community.
