JFK Health, Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey to merge, systems announce

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed; two systems already partnering on Home Care and Satellite Rehabilitation facilities.

JFK Health will become part of the integrated network of the Hackensack Meridian Health system in New Jersey, both systems announced Thursday.

The financial details were not disclosed.

By affiliating with Hackensack Meridian Health, JFK Health will be able to invest in new programs, services and technology, according to a released statement.

"JFK shares with us the common goal of providing an expansive continuum of care," said John K. Lloyd, co-CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. "With the addition of JFK Medical Center, we can look forward to ultimately enhancing our network and serving more people."

JFK Health went through an extensive review process to determine how a partnership would enhance its clinical services, increase access to services for patients and their families, and further support JFK Health's population health initiatives, according to Raymond Fredericks, president and CEO of JFK Health.

"We share a culture and vision for the future of healthcare that reinforces JFK Health's role in the community," Fredericks said. 

The two systems have already partnered fro 20 years, running Home Care and Satellite Rehabilitation facilities.

JFK Medical Center is a 498-bed, full service, non-profit community hospital.

Hackensack Meridian Health is a not-for-profit integrated healthcare network.
