Ohio hospital improves efficiencies and productivity with QuadraMed revenue management release
QuadraMed Corporation, a leading provider of healthcare technologies and services that turn quality care into positive financial outcomes, announced today that Coshocton County Memorial Hospital in Coshocton, Ohio, has successfully implemented the newest version of the Affinity Revenue Management solution. The hospital, which served as a beta test site for the software upgrade, is already using Affinity's advanced features to increase productivity, improve cash flow and better manage its financial performance.
"QuadraMed's Affinity M9 upgrade has improved our efficiencies and enabled our business office to work smarter," said Sherrie Eicholtz, Director, New Technology, Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. "The ability to utilize the enhancements made to the Quantim integration in Health Information Management (HIM) allows us to improve communications between HIM and Patient Financial Services as charts are being coded. With these enhancements we can easily submit claims to payers faster. We're also pleased with the new Extended Receivables Management tools that allow for enhanced monitoring and management of 'early-out accounts' being worked by groups outside of our institution."
"Over the years, we have found that QuadraMed is very responsive to our needs," Eicholtz continued. "The company has continued to improve Affinity in ways that make our staff more productive and that enable us to increase our collections and reduce our days in A/R. We look forward to using the new tools and accelerating our cash flow even further with the help of Affinity's latest upgrade."
The upgraded version of Affinity offers new functionalities and improvements, including:
Extended Receivables Management - monitors and segregates "early-out" accounts and enables the business office to supervise and measure outsourced billing and collection efforts
Expanded medical-necessity checking, (already available in QuadraMed Enterprise Scheduling) - enables front-office staff to use a third-party, web-based service to find out whether Medicare will cover a particular service or procedure. This feature is especially valuable when staffers are registering or pre-registering patients.
Enhanced identity theft prevention helps hospitals adhere to Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Red-Flag Rules.
Guarantor management consolidates multiple accounts with the same guarantor into a single bill, improving customer service.
"Coshocton County Memorial's partnership with QuadraMed as a beta test site has been extremely helpful in the roll out of the new upgrade to our client base," commented Duncan W. James, CEO of QuadraMed. "Our company is dedicated to continuously refining our technology and services, and we value our customers' design requests and input to meet and exceed their evolving business needs."
