AMN Healthcare amends agreement with VHA, Inc. to include travel, allied and pharmacy divisions

AMN Healthcare (NYSE: AHS), the nation's largest healthcare staffing and workforce solutions company, today announced that it has amended an existing agreement between its Nursefinders division and VHA, Inc., to expand the scope of its provider relationship.

VHA is a national network whose members work together to drive maximum savings in the supply chain arena, set new levels of clinical performance and identify and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency and clinical outcomes.

Under terms of the newly-executed amendment, VHA members can access the broad scope of AMN Healthcare's service offerings, including managed services programs (MSP) for nurses, allied healthcare professionals, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. VHA members may also contract with AMN for temporary needs, such as per diem, short-term contract and travel healthcare professionals. VHA members will have access to AMN Healthcare services and programs, which includes workforce managed software along with dedicated clinical and administrative support.

"VHA member organizations, representative of hospitals nationwide, are facing a critical shortage of healthcare professionals, particularly in specialty areas," said David Gillan, vice president, purchased services and specialty sourcing at VHA. "While our staffing suppliers typically provide great value in helping members meet workforce needs, through AMN's broad scope of services, VHA members have access to innovative workforce solutions and services that can ultimately help them enhance their clinical and financial performance," he added.

Susan Salka, AMN Healthcare's president and CEO, said, "We are proud to be recognized by VHA as the largest provider of this full service staffing offering in the U.S. Nearly every healthcare facility recognizes the trends in MSP program growth and the important role the MSP model will play in service delivery to clients. AMN and Nursefinders have a track record of being successful in ensuring the quality of staffing while rationalizing less total agency costs through more effective utilization of staffing alternatives."
