Datawatch and dbtech enable healthcare providers to access hard to reach report data from document management systems
Datawatch Corporation, a leading global provider of report analytics products and services, today announced that it has expanded its ongoing relationship with dbtech, a leader in revenue cycle improvement solutions for hospitals and other healthcare organizations. As part of the enhanced OEM partnership, dbtech will bundle Datawatch's Monarch Report Analytics platform with its dbtech Ras content and document management solution. Now, hospitals and other healthcare organizations will have access to, and extend their use of, valuable reporting data found in their document management application.
Using the combined solution, healthcare organizations can save time, paper and money through automated workflow in a variety of document-intensive departments. Additionally, customers now have access to data found in patient accounting, medical records and accounts payable reports and other hard to use data sources; previously the data was trapped in these reports and difficult to analyze. These organizations can extract and analyze semi-structured and loosely structured data from reports and documents stored in their enterprise document management system. This data can originate from documents related to patient registration, remittances or explanation of benefits (EOBs); access to and analysis of this information enables organizations to make better more informed business decisions without resorting to costly, custom IT programming for reports. This data can also be combined with data from EHR systems and other healthcare information systems to optimize decision making and provide intelligence around revenue cycle management and quality of care.
"More than 1,200 healthcare organizations rely on the Monarch Report Analytics platform for enhanced analytics on data trapped in reports and other business documents," said Paul Constantino, director, Healthcare Solutions, Datawatch. "Combining our self-service report analytics platform with dbtech's existing document management offering, analysts can make better use of all of their available data assets."
"Dbtech Ras is currently installed in over 150 community hospitals where it serves as a central repository for a wide range of essential data – from legal documents and billing paperwork to clinical records," said Philip N. Kaplan, CEO of dbtech. "Adding the Monarch Report Analytics platform to our proven content management system helps healthcare organizations access vital patient and revenue cycle information to identify and manage revenue cycle improvements."
