Ambulatory care association changes accreditation policy

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) has discontinued its one-year and six-month terms. All accreditations will be for three-year terms announced the organization on Tuesday.

The policy change is effective for those applying for accreditation on or after March 1, 2012 or which have their surveys conducted on or after July 1, 2012.

The policy change does not affect the scope of the accreditation survey and the accreditation process and those organizations that are denied accreditation may still appeal the decision.
