What states will earn the most Medicare bonuses?
Seems not all states are the same in the eyes of CHS.
It's a healthcare twofer that has many people talking: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will pay out quality bonuses to 1,700 hospitals, though many of them won't see that cash since they've also been fined for having too many readmissions. Seems not all states are the same in the eyes of Medicare, as the percentage of hospitals earning these quality bonuses varies from state to state. On the high end, 84 percent of participating hospitals in Maine earned these bonuses, given out for benchmarks like patient satisfaction, lower death rates and how much patients cost Medicare in 2014. On the other hand, only 24 percent of participating hospitals in Nevada will score bonuses.
