Do you want ICD-10 delayed another year? Some do

Nearly 30 percent who answered our poll said they'd support another delay.

Despite the majority of experts testifying in Washington last week that most healthcare providers are ready for new ICD-10 coding to take effect on Oct. 1, a fair number who answered our poll said they'd back another delay if Congress decides to push back ICD-10 again.

Nearly 31 percent who answered our poll said they'd support another delay, compared to the 65 percent who said they want to stick to the Oct. 1 switch-over. The remaining 4 percent said they hadn't made up their minds yet.

Of course, our poll isn't scientific, but the respondents represent a slice of the healthcare insiders who read Healthcare Finance and Healthcare IT News. It's also interesting that the 70-to-30 percent ratio held pretty much throughout the entire voting process.
