Johns Hopkins economist to keynote Revenue Cycle Solutions Summit in December
Two-day event will take place in Atlanta on Dec. 7 and 8.
Douglas Hough, associate scientist at the Department of Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins University will keynote the second Revenue Cycle Solutions Summit, presented by Healthcare Finance on Dec. 7 and 8 in Atlanta.
Hough, an economist, is expected to tackle the subject of change, an appropriate focus as the switch to value-based reimbursement and the rise of consumerism is putting urgent pressure on hospitals, outpatient centers and physician practices to make sure the processes and tools that run their revenue cycle are strong enough to weather that change.

For example, Hough is expected to discuss the effects of inertia on organizations facing major changes, and will present tools for facing down tough choices to ultimately improve business.
In addition to Hough, several high-profile healthcare executives are slated to present at the event on topics ranging from reducing bad debt to improving patient collections.
Mark Norby, chair of enterprise revenue cycle at Mayo Clinic, will also speak at the event, sharing his organization's insights into the mid-cycle and the importance of having sound practices that are key to shoring up a hospital's finances.
In addition to several other panels, the two-day event will feature an extended session on ICD-10, and the effects that the code change is having on the revenue cycle.
