University of Pennsylvania Health System partners with Abu Dhabi-based VPS Healthcare

Health systems will collaborate on healthcare conferences, standards of patient care and continuing education programs

The University of Pennsylvania Health System this week said it plans to partner with VPS Healthcare in the United Arab Emirates.

According to Penn Medicine, the health systems will collaborate on healthcare conferences, standards of patient care and continuing education programs for physicians, nurses and other members of the organizations' clinical staffs.

"The main goal of our partnership is to provide the best of the healthcare services for the people of the UAE," Abu Dhabi Hospitals CEO Ali Obaid said in the announcement. "Our approach has always been patient centric and in Penn we have a partner who shares the same ideology of putting patients' interests right at the top of the list and gradually work from there."

According to the healthcare providers, UAE has one of the fastest growing healthcare sectors in the Middle East.

VPS Healthcare manages 14 hospitals.
